About Dr Hatrick

Dr Andrew Hatrick is a UK consultant radiologist with over 35 years in clinical medicine and 25 years as a consultant, based at Frimley Park Hospital NHS Trust and Royal Surrey Hospital NHS Trust in Surrey. He graduated in medicine from Cambridge University in 1991 and undertook his radiology training at Guy's and St Thomas Hospital, completing a specialist fellowship in interventional radiology and abdominal imaging at the University of Toronto before returning for further fellowship experience at Guy's and St Thomas and Great Ormond Street Hospital. He was appointed consultant radiologist at Frimley Park Hospital in 2000.

His clinical focus spans interventional and vascular radiology, hepatobiliary and abdominal imaging, cardiac CT, and spinal intervention. He is the team radiologist at the Surrey Vein Clinic, providing specialist vascular imaging for conditions including varicose veins and pelvic venous disorders, and holds the European Board of Interventional Radiology (EBIR) qualification - an internationally recognised standard of excellence in image-guided interventional techniques.

Dr Hatrick is co-editor of Diagnostic Imaging (7th Edition), published by Wiley-Blackwell in 2013. A standard reference text used in UK and international medical training, the book - first published in 1981 - is one of the most widely read radiology textbooks in clinical education. His involvement as editor reflects his standing as a senior figure in UK diagnostic radiology.

He practises privately at Spire Clare Park Hospital, Nuffield Health Guildford and the Parkside Suite Frimley, and brings to Doctorum over two decades of consultant-level expertise spanning the full breadth of diagnostic and interventional radiology.

Scans Dr Hatrick Reports

Dr Hatrick has hands-on clinical experience reporting all of the following scan types. Whatever your imaging, you can be confident it is being reviewed by a specialist who has spent decades working with it.

MRI

Magnetic resonance imaging of the abdomen, pelvis, liver, spine and soft tissues. No radiation. Produces highly detailed cross-sectional images used widely in cancer and complex disease assessment.

CT

Computed tomography of the chest, abdomen, pelvis and vascular system, including specialist cardiac CT for coronary artery assessment. Fast, detailed imaging widely used for diagnosis and staging.

Ultrasound

Abdominal, hepatobiliary and vascular ultrasound. Real-time imaging using sound waves; no radiation. Particularly useful for liver, gallbladder, kidneys and superficial vascular assessment.

X-Ray

Chest, bone, joint and spine plain-film radiography. The most common imaging modality, used to assess fractures, lung conditions and joint disease across all body areas.

Interventional Radiology

Image-guided minimally invasive procedures including vascular intervention, drainage, nerve blocks and spinal procedures. Dr Hatrick holds the European Board of Interventional Radiology (EBIR) qualification.
