About Dr Gademsetty

Dr Chintu Gademsetty is a UK consultant musculoskeletal radiologist with over 22 years in clinical medicine and 12 years as a consultant, based at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford. He graduated from the University of Nottingham Medical School in 2004 with a first class honours degree in medical sciences (BMedSci) alongside his medical degree. He completed basic surgical training and obtained membership of the Royal College of Surgeons in 2007, developing a strong interest in orthopaedics before transitioning into radiology. He was awarded the FRCR in 2012 and completed subspecialty musculoskeletal fellowship training at Barts Health, one of the UK's leading centres for MSK radiology.

He was appointed as Consultant Musculoskeletal Radiologist at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in 2014, where he also leads the Accident and Emergency radiology service. He is the Clinical and Educational Supervisor for radiology trainees on the Kent, Surrey and Sussex training scheme, and serves as an Honorary Senior Clinical Lecturer at the Centre for Sports and Exercise Medicine, Queen Mary University of London — a role that reflects his engagement with sports medicine imaging at an academic level.

Dr Gademsetty's expertise covers the full range of musculoskeletal imaging including complex orthopaedic pathology, rheumatological and metabolic bone disease, sports injuries and image-guided interventional procedures. He has a keen interest in education and regularly delivers lectures at national and international forums.

A notable career highlight was providing specialist imaging support for the Rugby World Cup in 2015. He practises privately at the Fortius Clinic, Mount Alvernia Hospital and Nuffield Health Guildford, and brings to Doctorum subspecialty depth in MSK imaging that is uncommon outside major orthopaedic and sports medicine centres.

Dr Gademsetty has hands-on clinical experience reporting all of the following scan types, with a specialist focus on musculoskeletal and sports imaging across all modalities.

MRI

Musculoskeletal MRI is Dr Gademsetty's primary specialty. Joints, tendons, ligaments, muscles, bones and nerves across the entire body — from the shoulder and knee to the hip, ankle and spine. No radiation.

CT

Musculoskeletal CT for complex bone and joint pathology including fracture characterisation, surgical planning and assessment of bony anatomy. Fast, detailed imaging widely used in trauma and orthopaedic settings.

Ultrasound

Musculoskeletal ultrasound for soft tissue, tendon, ligament and joint assessment. Real-time imaging with no radiation, also used to guide therapeutic injections and interventional procedures.

X-Ray

Bone, joint and spine plain-film radiography. Essential for fracture assessment, arthritis and alignment, and often the starting point for the investigation of musculoskeletal conditions.
