About Dr Watson
Dr Sarah Watson is a consultant radiologist at the Royal Surrey County Hospital in Guildford and a member of the Doctorum reporting team. Having completed her preclinical medical studies at the University of Cambridge and her clinical training at Imperial College School of Medicine, she holds the Fellowship of the Royal College of Radiologists (FRCR) and has practised as a consultant since 2015, with subspecialty expertise in neuroradiology, head and neck imaging, and paediatric radiology.
Her subspecialty interests span the imaging of the brain, spine, head and neck, and the full breadth of children's imaging. After completing her radiology training at St George's Hospital in London, she undertook a specialist paediatric radiology fellowship at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children, gaining dedicated experience in paediatric neuroradiology - one of the most demanding areas of the specialty, requiring a distinct understanding of the developing brain and the different pathologies seen in children.
Alongside her clinical work, Dr Watson is an active educator, teaching radiology trainees on the Kent, Surrey and Sussex training scheme, and is widely published in peer-reviewed radiology journals - reflecting both her academic standing and her ongoing contribution to the training of the next generation of UK radiologists.
In addition to her NHS role at the Royal Surrey, she practises privately through Nuffield Health in Guildford, and now provides expert reporting through Doctorum for patients seeking a consultant radiologist opinion on their brain, head and neck, spinal or paediatric imaging.

Obtain Your ReportScans Dr Watson Reports
Dr Watson has hands-on clinical experience reporting all of the following scan types. Whatever your imaging, you can be confident it is being reviewed by a specialist who has spent years working with it.
MRI
MRI of the brain, spine, and head and neck, with subspecialty expertise in neuroradiology. Extensive experience in paediatric MRI, where the developing anatomy and distinct range of pathology demand specialist interpretation.
CT
CT of the head, neck and body, including assessment of the brain, sinuses, skull base and neck. Experienced in both adult and paediatric CT interpretation across a wide range of clinical indications.
Ultrasound
Head and neck ultrasound, including thyroid and neck node assessment, alongside paediatric ultrasound - a mainstay of children's imaging given its lack of ionising radiation.
X-Ray
Paediatric and general plain-film radiography. The most common imaging modality, used across a broad range of clinical indications in both children and adults.
Neuroradiology Reporting
Specialist reporting of brain and spinal imaging across MRI and CT, from headache, suspected stroke and demyelination through to tumours and spinal pathology, drawing on dedicated neuroradiology and paediatric neuroradiology training.
Not sure which type of scan you have? We will identify it for you. Simply get in touch and we will confirm the modality and match your images to the right specialist before any report is produced.
Clinical Expertise
Dr Watson brings subspecialty depth in neuroradiology, head and neck imaging and paediatric radiology, underpinned by fellowship training at Great Ormond Street Hospital and over a decade of consultant practice.
Neuroradiology
Subspecialty expertise in imaging of the brain and spine across MRI and CT, covering a broad range of neurological presentations - from headache and suspected stroke to tumours, demyelination and degenerative or inflammatory spinal disease.
Head & Neck Imaging
Specialist interpretation of head and neck imaging across MRI, CT and ultrasound, including the sinuses, skull base, salivary glands, thyroid and neck nodes - a complex region demanding detailed anatomical knowledge.
Paediatric Radiology
Fellowship-trained in paediatric radiology at Great Ormond Street Hospital. Children's imaging demands a distinct skill set, with different normal appearances, pathologies and radiation-dose considerations, and Dr Watson provides specialist interpretation across paediatric MRI, CT, ultrasound and radiography.
Paediatric Neuroradiology
Dedicated experience in paediatric neuroradiology - the imaging of the developing brain and spine - gained during her fellowship at Great Ormond Street. One of the most specialised areas of radiology, calling for a precise understanding of normal development and the distinct pathologies of childhood.
General Cross-Sectional Imaging
Broad consultant-level experience in CT and MRI across body regions, built over a decade at the Royal Surrey County Hospital, allowing Dr Watson to place subspecialty findings in the context of the wider study and to review complex, multi-system cases.
Second Opinions on Neuro, Head & Neck and Paediatric Cases
Dr Watson's subspecialty training makes her well placed to review complex brain, spine, head and neck or paediatric imaging, providing specialist second opinions for patients seeking greater clarity - whether following inconclusive reporting, a new diagnosis, or before an important clinical decision.
