About Dr Lopez
Dr Tony Lopez is a UK consultant radiologist with more than 37 years in clinical medicine and over 30 years as a consultant, with the majority of his career spent at the Royal Surrey County Hospital and St Luke's Cancer Centre in Guildford. He trained at St Thomas's Hospital, University of London, qualifying in medicine in 1988 and completing his radiology fellowship (FRCR) in 1994.
His clinical career has centred on interventional and oncological radiology, with deep expertise across the full range of cross-sectional imaging modalities including CT, MRI, PET-CT and ultrasound. He served as Lead Interventional Radiologist at the Royal Surrey County Hospital for over a decade and played a formative role in establishing minimally invasive image-guided techniques for the management of cancer patients.
Dr Lopez has authored peer-reviewed research, contributed a chapter to the Anglo-American textbook Imaging in Oncology (edited by Professors Husband and Reznek), and presented his work at national and international conferences. He has been recognised as a pioneer in minimally invasive oncological procedures and was awarded the Stanley Melville Memorial Award by the British Institute of Radiology to undertake a research fellowship at the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm.
He is the founder of The Imaging Clinic, which has operated across multiple sites in London and Surrey. He brings to Doctorum an exceptional breadth of diagnostic and clinical experience across the full spectrum of radiology, supported by subspecialty depth in oncological and interventional imaging.
